Who, What, Wair?

To celebrate the release of the Air Max Ishod ‘Silver Bullet’ back in March, we were joined by the man of the hour at our Covent Garden store for the launch of the shoe. Ishod and his crew joined us at our flagship store in London where some of our flow team riders, staff and friends of Route One all gathered for the launch of his high-velocity shoe. Oh, and we even got a cheeky interview, which you can check out above.

Pro-la

A long time coming and more than deserved, earlier this year we asked Lola Tambling to join our Pro Team. A certified Olympian, two-time Skateboard GB National Champ and an absolute superstar, Lola is one of the brightest talents in British skateboarding, and we’re super gassed to be along for the ride.

It was a Good Day

Halfway through May, we enlisted the masterful help of videographer Will McLeod and our National Team’s very own Matty Owen to recreate the iconic launch video from ’09 for the re-release of Paul Rodriguez’s iconic ‘P-ROD 1’, set to Ice Cube’s “It was a Good Day” and all! We won’t bore you with the details, just have a watch of one of our favourite projects to date.

Curren Events

To celebrate the release of Curren’s debut pro shoe in May, we were honoured to be approached by Vans to co-host an event, with some of their top skaters including Diego Todd, Jordan Thackeray, Jamie Platt, Willow Voges Fernandes, Chris Pfanner and Helena Long joining Curren and hitting up Shredenhams in Bristol (with a quick pitstop to Dean Lane, beforehand). Extra, Extra

To celebrate the release of the new Tyshawn II colourway and accompanying adidas capsule, a few of us were lucky enough to head over to the Big Apple in June for a stacked week of skate jams and activations at the Bronx Newsstand. Find a little overview edit of the trip of a lifetime above.

We're Jammin'

We’ve got an amazing team of skaters from all across the country who are out there repping us on the streets and at comps, and to say thank you, in August we put on a private team session, as well as a public jam later in the day. Our crew turned it up big time at Shredenhams and we gave away a hell of a lot of product. A big shout out to all our sponsors who donated prizes and all of you lovely people for heading on down, it was a blast.

Mike Check

At the beginning of September, we got a last-minute call from Girl, asking if we fancied catching up with Mike Carroll (what do you think we said?). Few people can lay claim to as continuous an influence on skateboarding as this man, and even the mention of his name was enough to turn us into the fawning teenage fans we’ve always remained at heart. Number One

Another huge moment for us in September, we were lucky enough to work alongside New Balance Numeric to design our own exclusive colourways for two of their silhouettes. With such a stacked lineup, picking just two wasn’t easy, but after much deliberation, the 440 and Jamie Foy’s 306 got the nod, and the New Balance Numeric Route One Exclusive 'Reflective' Pack was born.

Drop in This Christmas

This Christmas we decided to take things up a notch and travelled all around the UK to all the cities where our stores are to create a Christmas remix of one of our favourite skate parts of all time: Girl Skateboards' iconic Magic Board part from Yeah Right!.The video features a rider from all ten of our store's flow teams, geared up in the full Santa fit, and skating across notable spots in the cities they reside in; bringing them all together in one video and delivering a bit of Christmas magic in every place.

Doot doola doot doo…

Last but certainly not least, for Nardwuar’s Nike SB Dunk Low Pro collaboration, we got the chance to interview the king of interviews, as well as a host a launch event, where a handful of lucky fans got to meet this legend. We weren’t about to do this by half-measures. After many hours of planning, we wrapped a taxi in Nardwuar’s iconic tartan, and with a bag full of gifts in tow, we took him on a tour of the capital to dig into everything Nardwuar. After going round all of London's hotspots, our final stop was our Route One London store, where he jumped out full of beans ready to give the excitable crowd a show, and he didn't disappoint.
