Three Different Ways to do it Right...

Alien never slack on the video production front; their commitment to the audio-visual arts is something you can take to the bank. From Memory Screen to Mindfield, Workshop vids are always the veritable cream of the crop, so it should come as no surprise that this Joey Guevara part comes artisanally crafted.

Clocking in at a second over two minutes, it’d be easy for the top brass to suggest, “This ain’t no Photosynthesis, just bang it out,” but AWS doesn’t play that way - and it’s great to see that beautifully curated skateboarding still matters in some quarters, even if it’s becoming an increasingly rare beast.

What of the skateboarding itself, you may ask? Or, less politely, “Stop wittering on and tell us about the tricks!” It’s great, obviously. His smooth style is always easy on the eyes, and what more could you want than that?

When Chris Russell handed in his notice at Creature last month, after a fifteen-year tenure that saw him mature from fresh-faced Hermosa Beach kid to fully bearded behemoth of a man, eyebrows were raised and rumours started circling about where he’d end up next.

Truth be told, we didn’t have to wait too long. His addition to the Tanabata team has just been confirmed with this brutal new part, and fans of his hell-for-leather approach won’t be disappointed. Chris brings the exact same heat that made him a legend with the fiends.

Big concrete and a distinct lack of concern for his own safety are the order of the day, along with a quick insight into what the move means to him. This is Chris Russell, refreshed and renewed for 2026, and we’re liking it!

Corey Glick, the man so astoundingly talented he did a rock to fakie on a handrail (honestly, if you haven't seen KOTR 2018, seek it out NOW!), has some raw footage over on the Hardest Good's Youtube page and it has, we're happy to announce, seen him promoted to wizard status in the eyes of everyone here at Route One HQ!

Unfathomably deft combos blend into delicate lip tricks and unskateable objects very much get skated - all the while looking like Luigi Mangione’s more talented older brother.

If the understated beauty of Joey Guevara, or the masculine hellride of Chris Russell, isn’t for you, then we’re pretty sure this tiptoeing tech is exactly what you’re after. Or perhaps you’re like us and digging all three - on the basis of these, skateboarding is looking pretty damn good right now!
