Nike SB Air Force 1 "Light Orewood Brown" Release

Nike SB Air Force 1 "Light Orewood Brown" Release
Nike SB Air Force 1 "Light Orewood Brown" Release
Apr 2026 by Harry Stephens

Murmurs about an SB Air Force 1 have been circulating for a while now, since Eric Koston was spotted in what looked to be the iconic silhouette over a year ago. Well the rumours are true, and Nike SB have launched their very first Nike SB Air Force One Low.

A groundbreaking basketball shoe of its time, the AF1 has endured the decades, from changes in the sport, as well as in street and pop culture, and still come out on top. Fast forward to 2026, the latest chapter in its storied history, the iconic silhouette has been rebuilt from the top up, making skate-ready adjustments to take it seamlessly from the courts to the board.

Released in 1982, the Air Force 1 was created as a more supportive shoe for basketball players through the innovative Air Sole technology, with Nike designer Bruce Kilgore taking inspiration from the brand’s “Approach” hiking boot and ultimately creating one of the most popular shoes to grace courts, and subsequently streets, across the world.

Landing in a spring-ready "Light Orewood Brown/Pink Foam" colourway, the AF1 makes its debut in the SB line. Keeping the OGs minimalist aesthetics at its heart, the upper is wrapped almost entirely in suede, complimented by a leather pink backtab accent, custom chrome SB-1 dubraes, all sat on top of a white midsole and grippy gum rubber tread outsole with matching pink insert.

With feedback on earlier iterations driven by Nike SB riders, you know the shoe is prepped for the demands of modern skateboarding, blending the spirit of innovation that birthed the OG with skate-specific engineering, delivering a lighter silhouette with a strong focus on boardfeel; the revamped version maintains the classic heightened midsole aesthetic but lowers the footbed and cuts the midsole in half to allow closer contact to the board.

Digging deeper into the details and tech, the Air unit provides cushioning in the heel, whilst keeping crucial forefoot flexibility, and a revised toe profile and stitch-turned seams bring flick and durability to the party. Underfoot, a modified herringbone tread pattern gives optimal grip and flexibility, and reinforced padded tongue, internal sit straps and fit pods in the collar lining allow skaters to feel secure and comfy on their board.
